Due before 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 30th.
This is the ONLY form accepted for SpringBoard! and Over the Rainbow Scholarships. Applications may be submitted by emailing [email protected] or on paper through mail or office drop-off.
SpringBoard! was created in 2004 as a fund at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM), by women who believed in the power of education and its ability to enhance the quality of life for families in southern New Mexico. This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate female students from throughout southern New Mexico who are pursuing higher education at a southern New Mexico community college or vocational school in preparation for a career.
Over The Rainbow
An individual scholarship housed under the SpringBoard! fund at the CFSNM. This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dorothy Ellen Baker, who dreamed of attending college, but was unable to as it was financially out of reach and the school she wanted to attend excluded women. Her belief in the importance of college for women inspired two of her daughters to complete their Ph.D.s and become professors. This scholarship will be awarded to women who are non-traditional students pursuing degrees at Dona Ana Community College (DACC) or New Mexico State University (NMSU) as an undergraduate.
Both scholarships can be awarded to traditional or non-traditional undergraduate women with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Non-traditional is defined as women who are not entering (or did not enter) college directly from high school and both scholarships give preference to applicants demonstrating financial need. Scholarships are awarded by the SpringBoard! committee.
**SpringBoard! also offers funds covering GED testing fees. This is a separate application that can be obtained by emailing [email protected]
